The Trisagion Hymn and “Rejoice! O Virgin Theotokos!” for Solo Voice

Do you wish you prayed every morning?

Or most mornings?

Or at least, some mornings?

For a long time, I didn’t pray in the morning. But then I realized I could sing prayers and everything clicked!

Today, I have a guest post on my friend Nicole Roccas’s blog Time Eternal, telling the story of how I came to this idiosyncratic, but habitual prayer routine. I hope you will check it out here.

As I formed a song-based prayer routine, I composed solo, a cappella settings of two prayers: the Trisagion Hymn and Rejoice! O Virgin Theotokos!

The tunes are simple and suited for a voice still waking up. I composed the two prayers to flow together melodically, but can also be sung separately.

If you’d like to check them out, you can listen to a recording below and click here for the sheet music.

P.S. Are these prayers new to you? You can find out more about their ancient history here and here.
